It’s not everyday that you easily come across an actor or actress from Shazi Raja’s racial and cultural background who is doing well in the entertainment industry. Shazi and a few others like her have proven that, despite all odds, talent is the determining factor for success in the booming Hollywood industry.

Shazi Raja is an American actress who hails from Rawalpindi, Pakistan, according to reports. She is therefore of South Asian ethnicity while her nationality is American. The actress was born and raised in Houston, Texas, where she went by her first name – Alina Sheherzad Akhtar Raja.

Growing up, Shazi’s childhood story is not too different from that of many other thespians. She was interested in art from an early age and almost never missed her school’s art programs. This passion she had for the arts would not die with age, but she had even chosen to pursue a college education in the field of fine arts. Shazi Raja studied at Rutgers University and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New Jersey State University.

Raja’s first recorded theatrical work after college was her role as Talisha in the Huntington Theater Company production of Kirsten Greenidge. Milk like sugar. Her stage performance won her the Independent Reviewers of New England Best Actress award.

Subsequently, she got an acting role in the HBO television series, High Maintenance in 2016. On the series, Shazi Raja portrayed the character of Eesha in just 2 episodes, but it turned out that she was all she needed to leave directors, TV directors and general TV staring at the public asking to see her more.

The Pakistani-American actress has expanded her acting portfolio to include the 2017 American comedy-drama film Status of Brad. In fact, when the director, Mike White met her, he knew in an instant that Shazi Raja was the perfect and natural actress for his Indian-American character, Ananya. In this film, Shazi had the privilege of working alongside Jemaine Clement, Ben Stiller, Jenna Fischer, Michael Sheen, Luke Wilson and others.

The following year, Shazi played the title character Amanda Neel in the American thriller television series Salut. This was quickly followed by his portrayal of Angela in a horror-thriller film titled The Haunt (2017).

As for his family, reports state that his parents are South Asian immigrants to the United States. However, none of these reports have been able to yield a verifiable identity as to who they are; their names and where they are now. Likewise, there is no report yet on whether the actress has a sibling. Although we are not in a hurry to conclude that she is an only child, we can infer that her family members are satisfied with the success she is recording in her career.
