In basketball, D’Angelo Russell took the stage with his skill and good looks. D’Angelo Russell was born on February 23, 1996 in Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky. His parents’ name is Antonio Russel and Keisha Rowe and he grew up with his siblings; Lashaun, Tayshaun, and Cloee Russell. D’Angelo basketball talents showed from a young age and he didn’t hesitate to join that lineage. He attended Central High School in Louisville, Kentucky before transferring to Montverde Academy after a year.
After joining Montverde Academy as a sophomore, D’Angelo showed a big step as he led Montverde to victory in the 2014 high school championship. His exploits continued in all of McDonald’s American games in 2014 with an impressive 3 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
In June 2013, D’Angelo enrolled at Ohio State University, despite offers from Louisville Michigan State and North Carolina. In Ohio, D’Angelo Russell made more impact with a record 14 rebounds in the win over Maryland and then 33 points in a 69–67 win over Northwestern. He recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in a 79-60 win over Rutgers on Feb. 8 and it became the first triple-double recorded by an Ohio freshman. The team recorded a 75-56 loss to Arizona to end their season, but D’Angelo Russell was named the ear’s Big Ten freshman.
In his 35 game spells at Ohio State University, D’Angelo averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.6 steals in 33.9 minutes per game. He was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers with the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. He penned a rookie contract with the Lakers in July 2015 and averaged 11.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in five Summer League games.
He was part of the 2016 Promotion Challenge and recorded 22 points and seven assists in Team USA’s triumph over Team World.
He is considered the youngest Lakers player to have scored 40 points in regular season play. Late in the 2015–2016 season, he led the Lakers and all rookies in steals per game and became the youngest to have 130 three-pointers in a season. He received NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors for his efforts.
Ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympics, D’Angelo was on the US national team training against the US men’s team. He was impressive in the 2016-2017 season, he scored 20 points in 120-114 win over Houston Rockets. He also scored a season-high 32 points in a 125-118 win over the Brooklyn Nets.
He doubled his career in season two, with a career 22 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds as the Lakers gave the 120-116 win over the Denver Nuggets. He also posted a career-high 40 points in a 125-120 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers before pitching his tent on June 22, 2017 with his current team, Brooklyn Nets.
D’Angelo Russell lost his match against IndianaPacers despite an impressive 30 points and five assists. He has continued to impress his team fans, recording his first career triple-double with 18 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds in a loss to the Raptors. This was the first triple-double since Terrence Williams in 2010.

D’Angelo’s career has been seriously stalled by injuries, but he’s often bounced back bigger and better with amazing enthusiasm. In November 2016, he was banned for two weeks due to a left knee injury. In January 2017 he also had to pause for a week due to injuries to his right knee and legs.
In November 2017, he underwent surgery on his left knee following an injury sustained in a match. He stayed off the field for about two months before returning.
